Nicholas Packaging wholeheartedly supports WRAP which helps individuals, businesses and local authorities to reduce waste and recycle more, making better use of resources and tackle climate change.
In particular Nicholas endorses the WRAP guidelines on the 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. For example:
-
Reduce
Nicholas Packaging helps customers reduce tonnes of waste by the innovative re-design and light weighting of packaging products.
-
Recycle
All our plastics are recyclable and all our products contain some recycled material. Lobby your local council for better plastics collections.
-
Reuse
Whilst there can be hygiene issues because all our packaging has held food, we are aware of increasing numbers of teachers and members of the public who wash out and use our products for a number of storage solutions.
The Courtauld Commitment
Most of our customers are signatories to The Courtauld Commitment, a voluntary agreement between WRAP and major UK grocery organisations that supports less packaging and food waste ending up in household bins.
Retailers, brands and their suppliers are working with WRAP to develop new packaging solutions and technologies across the whole UK supply chain. This includes using innovative packaging formats; reducing the weight of packaging (e.g. bottles, cans and boxes); increasing the use of refill and self-dispensing systems and collaboration on packaging design guidance.
Bio Degradable/Degradable Packaging
We are constantly evaluating new materials designed to degrade.
